    Our Key Principals:

    Tim Luedtke, FSA, CFA, MAAA
    Principal & Consulting Actuary

Tim, our founder, combines strong leadership and financial background as an actuary and a chartered financial analyst. His 25+ years experience with leading Fortune 100 insurance organizations and the Big Four position him well to anticipate the practical implications of policy proposals. He worked in the areas of new business development, investment management, product development, strategic growth, insurance securitizations, life settlements, international, and corporate development. A passionate proponent of personal responsibility and empowering those closest to a problem to solve it, Tim developed Navigator's approach to creating physician-empowered, motivated accountable care organizations (ACOs), one which begins at the local level, supports strengthening trusted physician-patient relationships and accomplishes these goals irrespective of whether the physician is independent or employed by a larger organization.

Tim is actively involved with the American Academy of Actuaries. During the recent health reform effort, Tim worked with numerous groups to help policymakers understand the implications on the group and individual insurance markets of various reform options. Tim believes that the best opportunity for affordable, accessible, and widely available health care coverage is to create a viable individual insurance market where larger risk pools can significantly reduce and/or stabilize year-to-year rate increases characteristic of insurance programs utilizing small risk pools. Tim has written and presented on numerous health and employee benefit topics including: captive insurance, comparative effectiveness, consumer-driven health care, and pay for performance.

Tim created and filed patents supporting a concept called the AURA® Plan. The AURA® Plan offers a tax-preferred investment vehicle for funding retiree and active employee health benefits, HRA balances, long-term care savings, and other health benefits. The AURA® Plan combines a 401(k) plan with an embedded health care account allowing employers of all sizes to offer a single, combined employee benefit account where contributions are established as a percentage of salary and year-to-year changes are independent of health care and other benefit cost inflation.

    The AURA® Plan

Tim is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA), and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska.
